About Me
My degree is in Communications, but I am a teacher at heart. I have volunteered for community reading projects and tutored reading with students and people learning English for decades.
The more I work with people, the more I see a need for them to have someone to read out loud with regularly. Unfortunately, today many caregivers are unable to devote the recommended 15-20 minutes a day outside of school to read with their children.
By 3rd grade in the U.S., students are no longer just reading for fun. They are reading to learn. The problem is that many of today’s students are not going into 3rd grade at that reading level. Hence, without serious intervention, those students fall behind…and it begins to snowball and affect their grades in other subjects such as science and math (word problems, anyone?).
The good news is that students can catch back up when given the chance. I am here so that you or your student(s) will be able to achieve their potential. Together, we can do this!
